Dear friends and partners,

A few months ago I had the delightful privilege of leading a preaching workshop on Leviticus. Apparently, it is the least-preached book in the evangelical Church. If you dig deeply into it, I am confident that you will find it enormously encouraging and gospel-saturated. Truly! For example, the Day of Atonement is not only at the center of Leviticus, it’s also at the center of the Pentateuch. This is precisely because it was at the center of the life of Israel, when they could be assured that their sins were atoned for, just as we can be assured of our forgiveness if we trust in Jesus, the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

In May, I flew to Krakow, Poland and upon arriving took a bus to Ukraine. It was a 10 hour ride with a long wait at the border. I was the only non-Ukrainian on board and the customs officers seemed perplexed and bemused as to why I would visit Ukraine!

Upon arrival I had a four day visit to L’Viv which included a preaching workshop on Galatians. I chose Galatians because legalism is an ongoing issue in the Ukrainian Church. We had many robust discussions on the gospel of grace and its implications. We also spent much time in prayer and discussion of how we can expand our ministry in the midst of war. We will aim to start a new workshop this fall in the Poltava region of Eastern Ukraine. We are also prayerfully planning another one in the Carpathian mountains.

Sadly, while I was there, Ukraine endured the heaviest bombing campaign since the start of the war with Russia four years ago. Over two days we were hit by 1,500 drones and about 40 hyper-ballistic missiles. Some of the pastors with me heard from their wives that their villages were bombed. We also had two drones strike very close to where we were staying one night. Thanks be to God we were all spared from harm. This is an ongoing reality for our partners there. I prayerfully plan to return to Ukraine in early December.

We are shaping up for a fruitful Fall ministry. Please pray for these upcoming trips:

*Oregon - I will be preaching on Exodus at a youth convention for West Coast Ukrainian Churches.

*Serbia - I will be meeting with key leaders of the Roma Church to discuss the possibility of starting ministry there to strengthen and serve their pastors. I will also preach at two Roma Churches. We have been praying for many years for an open door to serve the Roma people.

*Poland - I will join our partner Pastor Krzysztof and we will lead a preaching workshop on Habakkuk

*Turkey - I will travel to Antalya with our Polish training team and we will meet with our partner, Pastor Eshete, from Ethiopia, to pray, strategize on growing our ministry, and do a preaching workshop on Acts. We will also visit Perge, Colossae, and Laodicea.

*Ethiopia - I will travel with the Chair of our Board, Scott Wulff, and we will join Pastor Eshete in meeting with his National Training Team, and leading a preaching workshop on Leviticus and also strengthen the team in Word work and writing new workshops.

*Ukraine - I will travel to L’Viv with our team and we will lead a preaching workshop on Hebrews. There will also be much time for prayer and encouragement in the midst of war.

*Haiti - I will travel to Haiti with our partner, Dr. Dony St. Germain and together with our team we will start a new workshop with a new group of pastors on the Book of Jonah.

Thank you for your prayers & partnership!
